Synopsis

Told in a contemporary, non-traditional style, Charlie Foster is a powerful play about coming-of-age and the sensitive nature of walking in someone else's shoes. This dramatization about swimming and theatre tells the tale of Charlie Foster, a kid no one knew or cared about until he accidentally drowned in the river. Or was it an accident? Ten young people try to comprehend this life and death, questioning their memories and each other's. They use emotional tools within their understanding to process the tragedy—the rules of swimming and improvisation—as they explore this complex and profound experience that has changed each of their lives. Great roles for teens and young adults.

Customer Reviews

My students loved this play. It really challenged them. We used a bare stage with only 10 chairs to act as our set. We took this show to competition and the judges loved the simple set and show choice.
