A man is injured, lying in an alley bleeding, and no one will help him. Finally a timorous and uncertain samaritan approaches. The first man explains that someone has shot him for unknown reasons. His leg is broken and bleeding and he needs help. The uncertain samaritan suggests that he'll come back the first thing in the morning when the light is better and, if the man has an honest face, he'll try to help him. The poor injured man protests that he will bleed to death by morning and that he needs help NOW! With much trepidation, the second man lights a match and inspects the inured man. He asks him to turn his head a little more so that he can see it in both profile and full face. Here is a charmingly satirical and entertaining play with some biting commentary about people who don't want to get involved.
