Jennifer Fell Hayes' plays, Seal Songs: Deep Water and Overboard, were performed in the Manhattan Midtown International Theatre Festival (2009). Deep Water was a finalist in the Samuel French Short Play Festival (2008). Endurance was a winner in the Theatre Resources Unlimited New Plays Reading Series, New York (2004), and American Theatre Co-op Playwriting Competition (2006). Her book Pioneer Journeys: Drama in Museum Education, co-authored with Dorothy Napp Schindel, won the Distinguished Book of the Year award from the American Alliance for Theatre & Education. Hayes has written numerous plays for museums including Fare for All for the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum, New York, one of six plays chosen nationwide to be excerpted at the American Association of Museums' national conference. Nothing In Common is published by Samuel French. Hayes is director of drama at Friends Seminary in Manhattan and is the recipient of the Yale Distinguished Teachers' Award (2007). She is a member of The Dramatists Guild and the American Alliance for Theatre & Education. She is a playwright for the Workshop Theatre, Manhattan. A graduate of the Central School of Speech and Drama, London University, Hayes lives in Manhattan with her husband and has one daughter.
